As this year comes to a close, I had a moment to truly reflect on what I have learned this year. Before, I dive into that let me start by saying I am a planner. I like to know whats coming next to a certain degree and when my plan is altered I tend to completely lose focus and doubt sets in. Well this year ALL my “plans” were completely turned upside down and flipped over. I could go into details on different tales of unfortunate events that I experienced, but that’s not the moral of this lesson.
What I was able to take away from this year and the hand I was given was the importance of dancing in my hallway. Sounds crazy... right? By dancing in my hallway, I am referring to giving thanks and enjoying my hallway full of doors that were set up for me to walk through when I’m READY for it. I wasn’t ready this year. I still had my foot stuck in doors that should have BEEN closed.
The hardest part of this lesson to digest was that when the time has expired on some doors; whether it be career, personal, financial, or even location related, the doors that were prepared for you to walk in easily won’t always be there. I was trying to FORCE doors that were expired and set to close to stay open. Little did I know they were gonna shut whether I liked it or not.
I was put in a position where I had to be thankful for my hallway... I had to mature and rise to the occasion for what was in stored in my new doors of opportunity. This chapter of my life I’m calling the hallway.... The next chapter will be knocking down doors... I’m ready for that chapter.
