This weekend was my brother's birthday so naturally I went home and kicked it with him and my friends.
Weekend included: Sawtooth, TBK, fries with mild sauce :), church, and Kendrick Lamar!

As most know have I love affair with make-up! In another life I would be a make-up artist! This is def on my wishlist!

Naturalista.... Naw not me

I have always been conflicted when people ask about my hair or ask advise on hair. I don't deem myself to be #teamnatural.

Let me give you some background, my mom can't do hair; four French braids is her max! With that being said everything I learned about hair was by research, my big cousin, an my wonderful beautician, Teresa. I have always had a lot a hair and I was taught that I didn't need a perm to achieve healthy hair, so I only got one for Easter and my birthday starting in 7th grade. Then as of Senior I stopped completely.

My choice was not made based off a trend or a statement, but mainly just for healthy hair that I can maintain.

I said all that to say; I don't agree with team natural. All natural hair isn't healthy hair, so that's the team I'm rocking with! If ur hair is relaxed, natural, weaved up, or wigged out and it's healthy, then I'm on ur team.

The problem I have with being a naturalista or team natural is the segregation. And on top of that some naturals don't even have healthy hair.

I just do what I want when I want and how I want with my hair and that is what I want to be known as.

I am feeling this MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Absolutely It! This would fit in great in my collection!

Solange is BACK!

Solange is back!!!! Well, musically that is! I have been a big fan of Solange's music since Sol-Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams. Solange musical approach is extremely different from her sister's, but just as great. Solange lyrics take you to a place that speaks all the words you wish you could say.... With that being said her new single, Losing You, is on its way! It will be released digitally 10/2 and she left us with a little teaser!

While on my musical journey for good sounds, I came across RaVaughn Brown. She is an R&B songtress signed to Neyo's Compound camp. I honestly had not heard anything from her prior to checking out this tape and I was delightfully impressed. She has a sound that is iconic and could do well in the mainstream world. The Frank Ocean Effect....

Let me start by saying I love Frank Ocean as an artist and respect him for what he brings to the music world. But, I do think people are quick to try to put Frank Ocean in a box and in a genera. Frank Ocean is not R&B and has never proclaimed himself to be such. Just because one sings doesn't mean that they are R&B. Frank Ocean is an artist and I can respect him for what he does. First and foremost, I want to say that I have been a fan of Real Talk since the first time I heard him at an open mic. He is def an up and coming emcee worth following. If you like music that has substance and makes you think.... then check him out. Sorry this isn't any "drill" or ass shaking music..... instead its real hip hop; that make you think hip hop.

Living life in the fast lane.....

I was at an event on campus and noticed at lot of young wearing hair scarves. Now hair scarves are the oldest accessory, but if done right it can jazz up a simple pony or wrap.

Gifts....

This weekend was an eye opener for me, I realized that everything we are given were given with a repentance. I know it sounds like such a basic concept, but I honestly just gasp this. I was running from my gift, just to hurt myself in the process. I'm done running.
